Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s high-profile spouse Jesinta has spilled the beans concerning the AFL star’s future following his shock retirement announcement.
The WAG opened up in an interview with the Herald Sun, revealing there aren’t any plans for a return to footy.
“It was so sudden so it’s just about family time basically,” Jesinta stated.
“I’ve got a lot of work on so it’ll be daddy care.”
On Monday, the mannequin and mum-of-two stated it was an honour to be a part of his journey over a virtually two-decade profession, which included two premierships, 4 Coleman Medals and eight All-Australian blazers.
“It’s been an extremely emotional 24 hours,” Jestina captioned a photograph of the pair and their two younger youngsters, Tullulah and Rocky.
“So proud of my husband on what has been an incredible career. For 12 years (19 for Bud) footy has been such a huge part of our lives and has come with lots of highs and lows. It’s been an honour to be a part of the journey with you @buddy_franklin23.
“A fairytale career. The kids and I love you so, so much. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, we have made memories that we will cherish forever.
“Here’s to a new and very exciting chapter of our lives together.”
The champion ahead was compelled to hold up the boots after struggling a calf damage within the first half of Saturday night time’s win over Essendon.
During his profession, Buddy kicked greater than 1000 objectives throughout 354 video games, placing him fourth on the AFL/VFL’s all-time goal-kicking checklist.
