Sydney will go to the tribunal in a bid to have defender Tom McCartin out there for his or her AFL elimination closing.
McCartin has a two-game tough conduct ban for his excessive bump on Adelaide’s Shane McAdam through the frenetic closing quarter final Saturday night time at Adelaide Oval.
The suspension sidelines McCartin for his or her round-24 sport this Sunday towards Melbourne on the SCG and their elimination closing, with Sydney now assured a top-eight berth.
But Swans coach John Longmire stated on Monday they really feel the conflict with McAdam was unintended.
“We’ve decided to challenge it because we feel it was an accidental football incident,” Longmire stated.
“The ball deviated. Tom didn’t brace let alone elect to bump.
“Because of the ball and which means it bounced Tom did not have plenty of alternative. We’d like him to be out there this week, however as soon as once more the enchantment relies upon the incident.”
Collingwood forward Beau McCreery also faces a one-game ban for a dangerous tackle.
