Gold Coast’s prized AFL teenager Mac Andrew has been charged with drink driving and can face courtroom and a club-imposed sanction in January.
The Suns confirmed Andrew, the No.5 draft decide in 2021, had failed a roadside blood alcohol check within the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gold Coast stated the 19-year-old cooperated absolutely with Queensland Police then was charged with driving inebriated and launched.
He will likely be required to fulfill with Gold Coast membership administration and members of the management group when he returns to coaching on January 9 to obtain a club-imposed sanction.
“Mac has made a poor decision and understands that he has let a number of people down, as well as the club and the wider Gold Coast community,” Suns soccer boss Wayne Campbell stated in an announcement.
“He understands the severity of his actions and has shown remorse and as a club we will now look to support Mac and help him through the situation.”
