North Melbourne veteran Jack Ziebell has introduced he’ll step down as Kangaroos captain after six seasons within the position.
Ziebell advised teammates on Tuesday he had made the choice to step away from the place, leaving the position because the membership’s longest-serving captain since Wayne Carey.
The 31-year-old mentioned it had been an “absolute privilege” to guide North Melbourne and the accountability had improved him as an individual.
“The captaincy has been an unbelievably rewarding role, I feel lucky to have been given the opportunity and I’m a better person for the experience,” he mentioned.
“Now that I’ve reached the later stages of my career the time has come for me to hand over the reins.
“I’ll be there to support the next captain in any way I can and I have no doubt the incoming captain will lead our club with purpose and passion.”
