Injured Dangerfield might not return before AFL bye

Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield might be sidelined till after the membership’s mid-season AFL bye due to his hamstring harm.

Dangerfield was substituted out of the Cats’ win over his former membership Adelaide on Saturday, having sustained the harm early within the third quarter.

The 33-year-old premiership star was initially hopeful the harm can be only a minor setback.

But Geelong soccer boss Simon Lloyd on Monday confirmed Dangerfield will likely be out of motion for “a few weeks”.
