Hawthorn star Chad Wingard has a lacerated tongue and desires surgical procedure after the Hawks’ AFL loss to GWS.
Wingard was taken to hospital after halftime of Sunday’s sport at Norwood Oval after struggling the grotesque damage.
He was scheduled to fly again to Melbourne on Sunday evening with crew assist workers and have the operation.
“That sounds horrible to me,” Hawks coach Sam Mitchell mentioned.
“I can imagine it’s not feeling great for him … lacerated tongue surgery sounds nasty to me.”
Meanwhile, North Melbourne have confirmed co-captain Jy Simpkin suffered a damaged hand in Saturday’s humbling loss to Brisbane at Mt Barker within the Adelaide Hills.
Simpkin may have surgical procedure on Monday and the Kangaroos will then have a greater thought of how lengthy he shall be out of motion.
