Fresh details emerge after AFL young gun stood down

West Coast ahead Isiah Winder was concerned in an alleged incident this previous weekend in Geelong that’s being investigated by Victoria Police.

Seven Perth’s Ryan Daniels reported the allegation concerned Winder being a part of a bodily altercation whereas inebriated following the AFL/AFLPA Indigenous and Multicultural Players Summit.

Daniels added Winder has been stood down from the Eagles’ AFL program however can prepare with WAFL gamers and use membership amenities.

The Eagles confirmed in an announcement that they had “been made aware of an incident in Geelong after the AFL/AFLPA Indigenous and Multicultural Players Summit on the weekend involving player Isiah Winder”.

“The AFL have been informed of the alleged incident and as this matter is currently under investigation by Victoria Police we are unable to make any further comment.

“The club will fully cooperate with Victoria Police and provide support to Isiah through the investigation.”

Winder was one among over 100 AFL and AFLW gamers from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island and Multicultural backgrounds to attend the summit which passed off late final week.

Days prior he was re-drafted as a rookie by the membership, having been delisted a month earlier.

Winder was the No.57 decide within the 2020 nationwide draft and performed seven video games throughout his first two AFL seasons, together with six in 2022.
