Former player named new Pies boss

Collingwood has introduced 1990 premiership participant and influential participant agent Craig Kelly because the AFL membership’s new chief govt.

Kelly, a troublesome defender who performed 122 video games for the Magpies between 1989 and 1996, will step down from the helm of sports activities administration powerhouse TLA to tackle the brand new function.

Collingwood president Jeff Browne stated Kelly was the proper match to steer the membership into the “next chapter”.

“Craig Kelly is an extremely well-rounded professional and a highly respected person within the football community who has the ideal skill set to be the CEO of our great club,” Browne stated.

“His three decades of vast experience in managing AFL and key sporting talent, driving a high-performance environment and delivering successful results were key factors in his appointment.”

Browne thanked head of soccer Graham Wright for his work as interim chief govt for the reason that departure of Mark Anderson, who left the function late final 12 months.

He stated Kelly would start his duties on February 20.

Kelly stated he was “incredibly honoured” to return to the membership as chief govt.

Collingwood additionally introduced it has appointed former tv community director Ian Paterson as its new chief business officer.
