Footy world pays tribute to Nick Lowden after 23yo’s ‘tragic and unexpected death’

The Norwood Football Club in Adelaide is in mourning after the sudden demise of premiership participant Nick Lowden on the age of simply 23.

Lowden performed 22 League video games throughout two seasons with the membership in 2022 and 2023 and was a part of Norwood’s SANFL premiership group final 12 months.

He had beforehand performed for the Casey Demons in Victoria and was a product of the Gippsland Power.

“The Norwood Football Club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of premiership player and current squad member, Nicholas Lowden,” the membership stated in an announcement on Friday.

“The club is devastated by his passing, and is thinking of his family, the playing group, coaches, and the wider Norwood Football Club community at this difficult time.

“A powerful, strong player around the contest, Nick immediately made an impact on the field ensuring that his presence was felt particularly by opposition players.

Nick will be remembered by all of his teammates along with the coaches, volunteers, support and administration staff of the Norwood Football Club. We all send our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Norwood stated Lowden has “performed solidly” firstly of this 12 months earlier than a calf harm in Round 9 interrupted his season.
