Adelaide’s first-year defender Max Michalanney has joined a batch of younger teammates in signing contract extensions with the Crows.
Michalanney, who has performed each sport in his debut AFL season, has inked a recent two-year deal tying him to Adelaide till the tip of the 2026 season.
The 19-year-old, who was already contracted to the tip of subsequent 12 months, joins teammates Jake Soligo, Chayce Jones and Harry Schoenberg in saying new offers prior to now week.
“I’ve loved my time at the club so far, obviously the team is going really well and it would be nice to push deep into finals in coming years,” Michalanney mentioned in an announcement on Tuesday.
Michalanney is Adelaide’s first father-son choice to play in AFL ranks – his father Jim was a four-time premiership participant at SANFL membership Norwood within the Nineteen Seventies and Nineteen Eighties.
Adelaide’s checklist supervisor Justin Reid mentioned the membership have been “thrilled” to safe Michalanney on an extended contract.
“We knew we were getting a talented player and a quality young man when we drafted Max and we are delighted with how quickly he has developed at AFL level,” Reid mentioned.
“He’s tough and super competitive and shown he can play on a range of opponents … he is a very important part of what we are building.”
The Crows, who have not reached the finals since 2017, sit in eighth spot on the ladder forward of Sunday’s MCG fixture towards second-placed Collingwood.
