Jesinta Franklin has shared a touching tribute to her husband, Lance Franklin after the AFL celebrity introduced his retirement on Monday, calling it “the end of an era”.
The mannequin and mum-of-two stated it was an honour to be a part of his journey over an almost two-decade profession, which included two premierships, 4 Coleman Medals and eight All-Australian blazers.
The champion ahead kicked greater than 1000 objectives throughout 354 video games, placing him fourth on the AFL/VFL’s all-time goal-kicking listing.
“It’s been an extremely emotional 24 hours,” Jestina captioned a photograph of the pair and their two younger kids, Tullulah and Rocky.
“So proud of my husband on what has been an incredible career. For 12 years (19 for Bud) footy has been such a huge part of our lives and has come with lots of highs and lows. It’s been an honour to be a part of the journey with you @buddy_franklin23.
“A fairytale career. The kids and I love you so, so much. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, we have made memories that we will cherish forever.
“Here’s to a new and very exciting chapter of our lives together.”
Franklin gained two premierships in 2008 and 2013 earlier than making a shock transfer to Sydney on a nine-year deal, which he prolonged for another season.
Buddy was brief and candy in his personal outgoing message on social media.
“What a journey. Thanks to everyone who has been on this crazy ride with me,” he captioned a photograph of himself together with his two coaches, Alastair Clarkson and John Longmire.
