The Daily Mail has reported the documentary states that in 2019, Laidley despatched her daughters a picture of herself with a face stuffed with make-up, sporting a white button up shirt with a black belt and black thigh-high boots.

Laidley returned to the soccer fold in 2021 when she returned to North Melbourne.
Speaking on Triple M on the time, Laidley thanked the soccer group for its help.
“It’s been a tough road to here but I’ve just been really overwhelmed just by the support of the wider AFL community,” she mentioned.
“You live in fear and shame and embarrassment for years and then to come out like it did, it’s been really tough on my family, but now, to a person, it’s been great.
“They accept me for who I am, the person I am now, and hopefully there’s a lot of life to live.”
