AFL boss Gillon McLachlan has had his say on the controversial end to the top of the Adelaide Crows and Sydney Swans conflict.
The Crows have been cruelly robbed of a matchwinning aim within the dying phases in opposition to the Swans with the aim umpire deciding the ball had brushed the submit.

The AFL’s already controversial rating assessment system remained within the shadows as replays confirmed the ball hadn’t come into contact with the submit.

Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd couldn’t consider the incident wasn’t despatched upstairs for assessment.
“It’s as big a mistake as I can remember,” he mentioned.
“You can understand the heat of the moment a field umpire making a mistake. But in this situation, when you have, you can go upstairs and they go upstairs sometimes for less, and in this situation he had players all around him.
“The ramifications are big, in terms of not just the Crows but other side as well.”
Kane Cornes was scathing in his evaluation of what unfolded and raised severe questions on the usual of the umpiring.
“It’s a mistake that is not acceptable,” Cornes mentioned.
“You have to question the goal umpire’s level of training, how many hours they are spending at the AFL and their processes to lead to this point where a goal umpire can choose not to go upstairs in that moment. It’s not good enough.”
