Billy Brownless has opened up on his blossoming romance after celebrating his one 12 months anniversary with accomplice Justine.

The Geelong legend, 56, saved his new romance beneath wraps earlier than the pair went public in November after months of rumours.

The former star ahead turned media character stated the pair have been nonetheless kicking targets a 12 months after their flame ignited.

“We’re still together, believe it or not,” he stated to the Herald Sun.

“It’s been over a year, the poor thing I feel sorry for her, but she’s a good girl. She’s got her kids and I’ve got mine.

“When you’ve been single for a long time it’s bloody hard work. She deserves a medal.”

Brownless first opened up on the connection with Justine in the course of the 2023 Australian Open, explaining the pair have been taking issues gradual.

“Everything is going well,” Brownless stated.

“Taking it one week at a time as they say. We’re very happy and it’s nice to be out.”

The completely happy couple have been reportedly launched by Brownless’ good mate and fellow AFL nice Leigh Montagna and his spouse Erin.

The relationship comes years after his marriage breakdown left him in a bitter feud with former finest mate Garry Lyon.

“‘Why me?’ and a bit of hatred of course.

“But now mate, it’s been four or five years, I’ve come around and everyone is in a good spot to be honest. Garry and Nicky are — that’s fine — and the kids are (too).

“That was the other big problem (at the time). Young Maxy was about 10, Oscar was about 14, the girls (Lucy and Ruby) were 16, 17.

“It was so public that was the biggest problem. It was so public. On TV, in the papers, front page of the Geelong Addy.

“It was hard at the time because it was so public. I’d walk into a coffee shop and I’d swear everyone was looking at me and talking about it and they weren’t.”

Brownless stated he’d been informed early on it will take two years for him to recover from the betrayal however “two wasn’t right”.

In late 2021 Brownless retired from TV after 27 years on display screen.
