One of footy’s most well-known households and so they now lay declare to at least one footy’s most well-known traditions.
Fremantle star Andrew Brayshaw, his brother and Melbourne gun Angus and a bunch of different members of the family have gathered for his or her annual hundred-hundreds — the place they run a 100m dash 100 occasions on Christmas morning.
This 12 months — the tenth anniversary of the Brayshaw Christmas custom — they joined the Port Fairy Seagulls to do the run at their residence floor within the coastal city.
Andrew has travelled residence for Christmas, as has Sandover medallist and The West Australian columnist Hamish, whoever he was struck down with damage and boxed as an alternative with a moonboot on.
“The thought process at the time was: To get the jump on the competition, let’s do the hardest session possible on the day when nobody else is doing anything. And who is doing anything on Christmas?,” Hamish wrote this week.
“Over the years, the number of people doing this on Christmas morning has grown almost exponentially. It’s crossed state lines and has even been done internationally (Vietnam Christmas 2017).”
Hamish is about to play at East Perth once more this 12 months after the membership returned to finals and he gained the Sandover, whereas Andrew has been reappointed as Fremantle’s vice-captain.
