20-year-old Amber Rawlings was working behind the counter at a Novar Gardens IGA, in Adelaide’s south-west, at 7:45pm yesterday when a masked man walked into the shop with a gun.
The gun was pointed at Rawlings and her supervisor, Jim, whereas he demanded money.
“I was just standing there frozen, I didn’t know what to do. It didn’t feel real,” she informed 9News.
“(He was saying) ‘Money. Money in the bag.’ Demanding money, that was pretty much all he said.”
A buyer was additionally within the retailer on the time.
Jim informed the masked legal that the shop didn’t have any money within the register earlier than he and the shopper chased him out of the shop.
No one was bodily injured within the incident.
Amber’s mom, Rosina, stated if it wasn’t for the supervisor and buyer chasing the person out, issues may have been a lot worse.
“(I) couldn’t believe it had happened to her,” she stated.
“She always has been very brave. She’d been through cancer treatment when she was three, she’s very resilient.”
Rawlings will return again to work after a couple of days off.
