Woman metres from home when she was stabbed in ‘rare and random’ attack in Victoria
A person has confronted courtroom accused of stabbing an aged girl in a “rare and random” assault in Victoria.
The 73-year-old girl was strolling house when she was allegedly approached from behind and stabbed a number of instances on Mundy Street in South Geelong about 7pm on Tuesday.

Jordan Powell, 32, fronted Geelong Magistrates’ Court at the moment charged with deliberately inflicting critical harm.

Powell didn’t make an utility for bail however appeared in an agitated state.

One resident, Margaret, stated it was terrifying.

“It makes you feel a little bit uneasy,” the 90-year-old stated.

“It upsets you to think that it’s happened close to home.”

Investigators stated the girl had been strolling for about 20 minutes after visiting her 93-year-old mom who lives close by.

She was solely metres from house when she was attacked.

Powell was arrested on the Colonial Lodge Motel on Fyans Street, one kilometre from the scene.

9News understands the 32-year-old had been dwelling on the motel for a few week.

He has been remanded in custody to seem in courtroom once more in August.
