Woman dies after tow truck she was passenger in ‘slides down embankment’

A lady has died after a tow truck she was travelling in left the highway and slid down an embankment in NSW’s Snowy Mountains.

Police stated they had been known as to the Snowy Mountains Highway at Kiandra, south-east of Talbingo, round 7:30 pm final evening after receiving studies of the crash.

The tow truck had been towing a ute when the accident occurred.

The lady had been travelling within the cabin of the truck and died on the scene, whereas the driving force was taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical situation after turning into trapped.

The 29-year-old feminine proprietor of the ute and her younger son escaped with minor accidents.

They’ve been taken to Cooma Hospital to be checked as a precaution.

The crash compelled the closure of the thoroughfare for greater than eight hours.

All lanes of the Snowy Mountains Highway opened about 4am with all diversions lifted.
