VP Sara to visit Singapore, Brunei next month as SEAMEO president

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte introduced Thursday that she will likely be visiting Singapore and Brunei Darussalam in June as a part of her mandate because the president of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).

 

 

During the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Partners Convergence held on the National Museum of Natural History, Duterte expressed hope of continuous forging partnerships with different nations to advertise high quality schooling for all.

She mentioned her journey to Singapore and Brunei is a part of her tenure because the Council President of SEAMEO, a regional intergovernmental group amongst Southeast Asian nations aiming to advertise regional cooperation in schooling, science, and tradition.

“Hopefully, we will be able to learn from the two country’s best practices in the area of education and the other SEAMEO member countries,” Duterte mentioned.

The Philippines, represented by Duterte, was formally elected because the SEAMEO Council President in February.

With this, DepEd is anticipated to guide the Council from 2023 to 2025. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
