Nationals chief David Littleproud says placing one other layer of paperwork with the Voice to Parliament “hasn’t worked before” and can fail to symbolize regional communities.
“You will be representing an area … hundreds of thousands of square kilometres, hundreds of different communities across that geographical area that have a different challenge,” Mr Littleproud advised Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“Someone that lives possibly in Warwick will represent someone in Birdsville … is just absurd.
“We come with practical reality, we come with the practical reality of understanding the mechanics of how this will work.”
