Troops ‘prevented civil war’: Putin after mutiny

President Vladimir Putin praised members of Russia’s army and safety forces in a ceremony on Tuesday, as he sought to reassert his authority following the aborted mutiny by mercenaries led by Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin. Speaking to 2,500 safety personnel mustered on the Kremlin, he mentioned the revolt would have led to civil battle with out with out their actions.
