Nationals MP and former police officer Pat Conaghan says the Queensland siege that ended the lives of two law enforcement officials will “shatter the police community” and be remembered for a few years forward.
“This is such a tragedy on so many levels; you have two beautiful, brilliant young lives taken away … these people have robbed them of having families, having a career, having a wonderful life,” Mr Conaghan instructed Sky News Australia.
“On another level … it will shatter the police community; it will shatter the township.
“This is a trauma that will be carried for many, many years.”
