Three folks have been killed in a two-car crash south of the Gold Coast in a single day.
The incident started when Queensland Police seen a black 2017 Mercedes GLS 63 wagon allegedly driving dangerously alongside Bonogin Road close to Calanthe Lane, in Bonogin, about 5pm.
Officers tried to cease the automotive however didn’t pursue it on the time.
“Shortly after, police were flagged down by a passing motorist who alerted them to a collision involving the vehicle and a silver 2018 Mercedes A200 hatch around a kilometre from the attempted intercept,” Queensland Police stated.
Police stated the crash prompted the second silver Mercedes, with three folks inside, to hit an influence pole, which fell down and prompted the black Mercedes to catch hearth.
“The three occupants of the silver Mercedes, two women and a man, were entrapped and police managed to free two of them, rendering first aid ahead of the emergency response,” Queensland Police stated.
“Despite the best efforts of police, paramedics and the passing motorists who provided initial assistance, the trio died at the scene.”
The solely individual within the black Mercedes, a 46-year-old lady, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a steady situation with an arm damage.
