A tense stand-off between a parking attendant and driver has led to main visitors delays inside a Gold Coast carpark.

Dozens of drivers had been caught in gridlock on the Circle on Cavill carpark at Surfers Paradise in a single day after the driving force on the entrance of the queue wasn’t allowed out till she paid up.

The driver holding up the queue claimed she paid $88 a month for her parking go but it surely wasn’t working.

“Hey, what’s going on?” a driver caught within the visitors requested the girl, a video seen by 9News confirmed.

“My pass isn’t working and they’re not actually letting me out of the actual thing cause they’re saying I’ve got to pay $25 but I don’t have the $25 on me,” she replied.

The driver then spoke to the parking attendant.

“You’ve got 100 cars in the car park because one of your machines aren’t working,” she instructed the attendant.

The attendant claimed the girl did not have a sound parking membership.

“I’m sorry but if everybody else must pay for their car park so should you,” the attendant stated.

Another driver supplied to pay for the girl’s parking however the attendant wasn’t having it.

“As I’ve mentioned to her, this is her business, this is her pass, she must pay the amount on-screen,” the attendant stated.

Circle on Cavill stated it is conducting an inner investigation along with the automotive parking operator.
