Study find households must earn ’40 per cent’ above average income to afford a home

Sky News host Chris Kenny says the cost-of-living disaster is hitting “everywhere” in Australia as households now have to earn greater than ever earlier than to help themselves.

Mr Kenny sat down with Sky News host Caroline Di Russo and GT Communications’ Gemma Tognini to debate how a research launched on Monday signifies a family must earn 40 per cent above the common revenue.

“The cost-of-living crisis, I know it’s hitting everywhere … especially in Sydney and Melbourne,” Mr Kenny stated.

“This study out today, they’re saying a household, in order to afford a house, actually needs to be earning 40 per cent above the average income.

“That’s a problem, isn’t it?”
