The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday stated it has obtained a report of an alleged stray bullet incident in Visayas forward of the New Year celebrations.
“Dito po sa may Visayas po, may natanggap po tayong report na meron po tayong allegedly na biktima po ng stray bullet. At yan naman po ay ating ini-imbestigahan,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated in a televised public briefing.
(In Visayas, we obtained a report that there was an alleged sufferer of a stray bullet. We are investigating it.)
Fajardo stated the police have but to find out if the stray bullet got here from unlawful discharge or unintentional firing.
Before Christmas Day, Fajardo stated they monitored at the very least three civilians who had been allegedly concerned in unlawful discharge of firearms.
During the earlier vacation season, or from December 16, 2021 to January 2, 2022, the PNP stated at the very least 18 instances of unlawful discharge of firearms had been recorded.
