‘Sore and shaken up’: Elderly man attacked and robbed by intruders in Perth
An aged man stays in hospital after he was brutally attacked and robbed in his residence in Western Australia.

The 87-year-old Mandurah man was in mattress asleep when he awoke to the intruders looking out via the rooms of his Dudley Park residence about 2am yesterday.

Upon investigating, the intruders struck the person to the again of his head, knocking him unconscious.

After regaining consciousness, the person referred to as police for help and was taken to hospital.

His residence of 23 years was left ransacked. 

Detective First Class Constable Matthew Mackay mentioned police had been treating the aggravated housebreaking with the “utmost seriousness”.

“This is definitely a serous and horrible offence that occurred against an elderly and vulnerable member of our community,” he mentioned.

“We’ve allocated significant resources throughout the district, in the form of forensic officers. We have multiple units that are out there doing everything we can to apprehend these offenders.”
