Some rice retailers have been unable to obtain their share of the federal government money support for individuals who suffered losses as a result of worth ceiling imposed on common and well-milled rice.

According to Bernadette Reyes’ report on “24 Oras,” some lacked data on their data and have been requested to supply extra paperwork and return.

“Middle name ko lang nalagay nila,” one of the affected retailers said.

“Talagang kailangang kailangan [ng ayuda] para medyo makabawi kami kahit kaunti, kasi di na kami makakabenta ng 41 [pesos per kilo] eh. Taas talaga sobra,” he added.

Others don’t have their names on the checklist of beneficiaries.

The Department of Trade and Industry has stated that every one certified rice retailers will profit from the rice subsidy.

“Kahit beyond sept 14, bukas na po yun, matatanggap ang ayuda. ‘Yung perang kaloob sa qualified beneficiary, darating at darating,” DTI FTEB director Fhilip Sawali stated.
