The slithery discovery was unearthed on the store in Capalaba in Redland, east of Brisbane, final week.
Shoppers and employees could be seen gathering round in a video posted on TikTok by @youknowtheguy.
It reveals a person fastidiously taking the creature from a shelf the place it was snuggled subsequent to purses on the market.
“Casually thrift shopping with Mum in Capalaba, next thing we know a lady is screaming and running away from the handbag section,” the poster wrote.
“Turns out a cute little carpet python had made its way into the store… most likely inside dropped off goods!
“Appeared to be exceptionally pleasant which had me instantly believing it is a pet, does anyone know of somebody who has misplaced their beloved python just lately?”
The shop is searching for the owner of the carpet python.
It doesn’t have a microchip and for now, it has been named Thrift.
