Smoke from fireworks poses health risks – expert

While many individuals benefit from the shiny lights that fireworks make, a medical professional warned that the chemical compounds they include are unhealthy, particularly for individuals who have already got weak lungs and hearts.

Encarnita Limpin, a pulmonary important care specialist in Tina Panganiban-Perez’s report on “24 Oras Weekend” on Saturday.

Limpin stated the high quality particles coming from fireworks keep within the air for a number of hours.

Sa isang taong may hika, pwedeng biglang atakihin,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPI) stated it was prepared for the rise in circumstances of bronchial asthma and different lung ailments that often rise following the New Year celebrations.

The Department of Health urged the general public to make use of face masks or keep indoors to keep away from inhaling the smoke attributable to fireworks. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
