RBA admits it did ‘terrible job’ but ‘mea culpa’ provides little comfort

The Reserve Bank of Australia admits it did a horrible job after the pandemic however their “mea culpa” will present “little comfort” to Australians struggling cost-of-living bills, says Sky News Australia Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.

“I don’t think this mea culpa is going to provide much comfort to the many, many millions of Australians who are suffering right now with the increased cost of living, with inflation,” she stated.

“So many people put their confidence in what the RBA was saying … while it might please some people to hear them finally admitting that they got this so terribly wrong, it’s going to mean little comfort.”
