A complete of 21 individuals with disabilities from Guihulngan, Negros Oriental acquired grownup wheelchairs and meals packs from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to “24 Oras,” Friday, that is in keeping with the upcoming National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week taking place on July 17-23.
Among those that acquired a wheelchair is Arpil Velaspin, a vegetable farmer who grew to become paralyzed after falling from a tree in 2000.
Since then, Arpil has been utilizing a contraption made with a sack, wooden, and wheels tied to his legs as his ft.
“Masisira yung damit ko kapag walang sapin na nilalagay,” Arpil stated. “Kapag walang gulong, mahihirapan ako gumalaw. Ang sako nagsisilbing proteksyon ng balat para hindi masugatan ng mga bato.”
Arpil earns solely P600 every week, which he and his mom use for his or her every day wants.
“Kahit ganyan ang sitwasyon niya, gusto talaga niya makatulong, para mabuhay kami,” Arpil’s mom, Fernanda Valespin, stated.
