Public sector wage cap to be axed in NSW within months

The New South Wales authorities has confirmed it is going to axe the present public sector wage cap in September in a bid to fight workers shortages throughout important providers.

The Minns authorities is promising to ship a rise of 4.5 per cent over the following 12 months, which is about to price greater than $600 million.

The wage cap at present sits at 2.5 per cent.

NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey spoke to Ben Fordham Live with Mark Levy in regards to the resolution, admitting it comes after lengthy negotiations.

“It’s necessary to make sure when a person turns up to a school with their child there is a teacher in the classroom, or if they come to an emergency room this will help us make sure there is enough health care workers in hospitals, as well as police in our police stations.”
