In preparation for the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE), the Philippine National Police (PNP) monitored barangay officers allegedly concerned in unlawful medication.
According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have been making ready to construct instances and launch joint operations in opposition to the barangay officers they have been monitoring.
“Kasama sa mino-monitor natin ang ilang barangay officials na nasasangkot sa ilegal na droga,” PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. stated.
Acorda added that it was very important for the general public to be vigilant to stop these concerned in unlawful medication from sneaking into the election.
The PNP, nonetheless, didn’t launch any particulars on the officers with drug ties.
The PDEA, in 2018, publicly launched a narco listing with over 200 barangay officers.
