Public Transport Minister Ben Carroll stated it was an “exciting” day for the state.
He confirmed US firm Conduent had been awarded the state’s public transport ticketing contract.
“It’s a seamless and simple solution,” Carroll stated.
“It’s an important moment for Victorians and public transport.
“We will now attain the twenty first century.”
Commuters in NSW have been in a position to make use of credit score or debit playing cards on public transport since 2018.
