A involved mom is talking out after her teenage son was left critically injured by a “completely unprovoked” assault in Perth.
Louis Hadfield, 17, was jumped by a gaggle of 4 males whereas strolling via the coastal suburb of Scarborough on Saturday night time.
Hadfield has been left with a bulging disc, sprains to his ligaments and a spinal brace.
His mom, Claudine Hadfield, mentioned the incident was “senseless”.
“[I] got a phone call from one of the girls that said, ‘you need to come now, Lou’s really really bad, he’s covered in blood, he’s been attacked’,” the mom recalled.
“It was a pretty confronting scene when we got there.
“He was attacked [by] 4 boys, [they] bought out of a automotive and simply beat him up.”
The 17-year-old striker for the Perth RedStars will not be able to play for the rest of the season, with an uncertain recovery ahead of him.
“He’s doing effectively along with his soccer and we hope this does not do something to him to forestall him persevering with down that pathway,” his mother said.
“He’s gonna stay in worry of this occurring and he should not be.
“At 17 he should be happy to go out and excited to go out with his friends.”
Police mentioned one alleged attacker was described as having darkish pores and skin and dreadlocks. Officers described the automotive as a white Volkswagen Tiguan.
The incident comes two years after fellow RedStars participant Danny Hodgson was randomly attacked in an identical method.
