Perth Mum allegedly attacked with hammer by stranger

A Perth mom has been left severely wounded after a stranger allegedly attacked her with a hammer and picket stake.

Fiona was allegedly attacked repeatedly with a hammer whereas attempting to purchase a bottle of water from a Rockingham petrol station early on Saturday morning.

“I turned around to him and he just looked [at me], he just said to me ‘do you want to get hammered?’,” Fiona stated.

”I was on the ground, I just kept on pleading with him, telling him I have kids, and that I couldn’t die.”

Fiona tried to get away however alleged she was hit “again and again”, and noticed the person with a picket stake and a knife.

The petrol station attendant known as the police and locked the doorways, that means Fiona was caught exterior with the person.

“I’m just screaming let me in,” she stated.

Fiona hid in close by bushes after finally making a touch for security and waited there till the police arrived.

James Plester, 29, has been arrested and charged with illegal wounding.

He remained behind bars on Thursday evening as Fiona recovered in Royal Perth Hospital.

“I just want people to be more vigilant and not go out on their own,” she stated.

“Always have someone with you.”
