The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Saturday stated it’s partnering with different authorities companies to launch a marketing campaign combatting disinformation and misinformation.
In a press release, the PCO stated it is going to be implementing the Marcos administration’s Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Campaign Project by way of a ceremonial signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its accomplice companies.
Partner-agencies embody the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The MOU signing might be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, in Pasay City.
The PCO stated the MIL is “the administration’s response to the disinformation and misinformation plaguing the country’s digital landscape, focusing on capacitating the youth to become more discerning consumers of media.”
With the accord, the companies will collaborate with the PCO on a complete execution plan crafted to focus on the recognized root causes of the difficulty.
The MIL might be built-in into the upper schooling curriculum, community-based trainings, and family-oriented packages, the PCO stated.
The company stated social media corporations and their platforms are additionally anticipated to collaborate with the federal government by lending the instruments and coaching to combat disinformation and misinformation.
