Orangutan evicts invading possum by launching it in the air

An orangutan has evicted an invading possum from its nest on the zoo.

The Perth Zoo primate first poked on the curious marsupial with a stick, however it wasn’t taking the trace.

Once the orangutan had sufficient, he flung the possum from his perch and despatched it flying by means of the air, in a video that emerged over the weekend.

During the cooler months, possums usually sneak into the primate habitats searching for a hotter nest.

“On this occasion, the orangutan was alarmed to find an unknown occupant in their bed”, a Perth Zoo spokesperson confirmed.

“The orangutan habitat is an outside environment, and possums, who also live at height, just like the orangutans, have been known to inhabit the above-ground territories.

“Rest assured the possum was sighted scurrying off after being evicted. They are a really sturdy species.”

The possum was not hurt, Perth Zoo confirmed.
