Nuclear reactors are ‘nothing like the Homer Simpson image’ anymore

Australia’s pure deposits and geological stability make nuclear energy the “safe and long-sighted answer” to the nation’s vitality disaster, says Sky News host Amanda Stoker.

She stated nuclear medication has been “safe and effective” within the nation, as there was a secure and “scientifically important” nuclear facility in Lucas Heights in suburban Sydney for a “long time”.

“The traditional reactor is nothing like the Homer Simpson image anymore,” Ms Stoker stated.

“It’s safer, more efficient and produces a tiny amount of waste that is incredibly stable once processed.

“The small and modular nuclear reactor technology has the potential to, without the need for human intervention or water access, provide low-emission baseload support to regional areas and high-energy intensity industries like aluminium smelters.

“As for the impact on power prices – until recently France was overwhelmingly powered by nuclear energy – when renewables were introduced in France, prices went up.”
