RBA Governor Philip Lowe has referred to as on the Australian authorities to inject extra funding into housing and infrastructure as Australia welcomes an inflow of migrants, says Sky News political reporter Olivia Caisley.
Mr Lowe delivered a speech on Wednesday, warning Australians in regards to the incoming migrant increase.
“He’s essentially saying that the governments, both state, territory and federal need to do more when it comes to addressing housing stock issues,” Ms Caisley advised Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“We are seeing an influx of migrants which is putting upward pressure on both house prices and rent, so he’s asking for more action here.”
