Navy ship succeeds in Pag-asa Island resupply mission despite engine trouble

After the BRP Laguna efficiently resupplied the BRP Sierra Madre on the Ayungin Shoal, the Philippine Navy ship lastly docked and resupplied Pag-asa Island on Saturday afternoon.

According to a 24 Oras Weekend report by Joseph Morong, the ship was speculated to arrive on Friday night time if not for engine bother that stranded them in the midst of the voyage.

Upon its arrival, residents of Pag-asa Island famous that Chinese vessels  had been shut sufficient to watch the continued actions on the island.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, it could be useful to the Navy if there have been extra vessels for resupply missions.

“At any one time, there are more than 400 ships at karamihan nito, mga Chinese ships. Of course, meron pa mga ibang barko dito katulad ng mga Vietnamese, Malaysians, di lang China,” stated AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.

BRP Laguna initially departed for its mission on Tuesday night, the identical day that the BRP Sierra Madre was succesfully resupplied.
