Moon has not been sighted, Eid’l Fitr to be celebrated on April 22

The celebration of Eid’l Fitr (finish of the month of Ramadan) will probably be on Saturday, April 22, in keeping with a Muslim chief on Thursday night time.

Grand Mufti of the Bangsamoro Abuhuraira Udasan made the announcement after the standard moon-sighting exercise was carried out.

“Bangsamoro Mufti Abuhuraira Udasan formally introduced that the moon HAS NOT BEEN SIGHTED — signifying that Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Breaking the Fast) will probably be on Saturday, April 22, 2023,” the Bangsamoro authorities mentioned.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared April 21, 2023 as a regular holiday in observance of the Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadhan.

Marcos said that it is necessary to declare April 21 as a regular holiday to “deliver the spiritual and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of nationwide consciousness.”

One of a very powerful events in Islam, and often known as the competition of the breaking of the quick, Eid’l Fitr marks the top of the holy month of Ramadan.
