KUALA LUMPUR — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed that help will probably be supplied to the victims of Typhoon Egay, together with these farmers whose crops have been broken.
“Yes nakabantay kami diyan, at this point marami talagang… may nasirang mga bahay at saka ‘yung maraming natangay na gamit…” Marcos advised the Philippine media delegation.
“Some areas kakatanim lang so we have to find out what are the areas na nasira ‘yung bagong tanim para makapagbigay tayo ng seedlings para makabawi naman sila, maihahabol pa nila itong season na ito,” he added.
Marcos stated that whereas in Malaysia, he had been getting experiences from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, climate bureau PAGASA, and the Philippine Coast Guard as regards the state of affairs within the typhoon-hit provinces.
Marcos stated rescue operations are ongoing for the victims of Egay.
“Sabi ko this is the moment that the roads are passable, the moment that we are able to provide relief right now, rescue kasi may mga na-stranded pa. So rescue, eventually relief,” the President stated.
Typhoon Egay has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) however rains will proceed to persist in components of the nation, based on PAGASA.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) is validating 5 reported deaths amid the onslaught of Typhoon Egay. Four of the deaths are from Benguet who reportedly died because of a landslide.
