BEIJING – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. directed the restructuring of the Office of the President to extend its effectivity in fulfilling its mandate to the general public.
Marcos inked Executive Order No. 11 on December 29, 2022, which outlines the executive restructuring of the OP, its instant workplaces, companies beneath or affiliated with it, and the Common Staff Support System.
Under the EO, the OP could have 5 main workplaces beneath the President’s direct management and supervision. These embody the Executive Office, Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel (OCPLC), Private Office, Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP), and the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
The EO renames the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) to PCO, which might be liable for crafting, formulating, growing, enhancing, and coordinating the messaging system of the Executive department and the Office of the President.
The Executive Office could have direct supervision and management over the Presidential Management Staff (PMS), which was previously beneath the OSAP, beneath the most recent directive of Marcos.
