Man’s mega battle against ‘dangerous’ tree

A disgruntled home-owner has hit out at his native council for not eradicating a tree he says is “dangerous” and has already broken property.

Simon, from Avoca Beach on the NSW Central Coast, made the newest plea after a years-long battle to chop the gum tree that towers over his property down.

He stated 5 branches have dropped on the home and different particles has smashed into two automobiles.

“It’s a danger to me, my family, my property and the general public,” he informed A Current Affair.

“It should be taken down, the sooner the better.

“It’s one of those situations where council is waiting for something to happen before they do anything about it.”

The tree is planted on Central Coast Council land who Simons stated refuse to take away it.

In an announcement, the council stated tree administration within the space was already enough.

“Council has already invested in excess of $1.6m in public tree inspection, maintenance and removal this financial year,” the assertion learn.

“Qualified arborists have inspected the tree on several occasions and determined it did not need to be removed.”

Simon stated he has provided to pay the $4000 wanted to take away the tree, however this supply was refused.
