Man uses stick to fend off home invaders

A person has been taken to hospital with critical accidents after he was pressured to defend himself throughout a violent dwelling invasion northeast of Melbourne.

At round 7.30pm on Tuesday, three individuals climbed by way of a kitchen window at a house on Stephens Rd, Healesville, attacking a 47-year-old man with “edged weapons”.

The three offenders who broke into the house have been unknown to the sufferer, who tried to battle them off with a stick.

The 47-year-old suffered critical accidents throughout the incident, after which the intruders fled the scene on foot.

Nothing was stolen and the motive behind the assault is just not but recognized.

Detectives from the Yarra Ranges Crime Unit have confirmed investigations are underway, with police urging anybody with info to return ahead.
