A person is believed to have attended a property on Interlaken Parade, Rosanna, and turned the ability off at about 9.20pm on December 21.
A person dwelling on the dwelling confronted the intruder when he went exterior to change the ability again on.
Police had been advised the intruder fired two pictures earlier than fleeing on foot.
