A bear attacked and killed a person at a campsite in central Arizona, US on Friday, authorities stated.

The sufferer, 66-year-old Steven Jackson of Tucson, was at his campsite when he grew to become entangled with the animal round 8am, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s workplace stated.

Neighbours tried to assist by making noises. But the bear was in a position to drag the sufferer a number of metres within the campsite about 160km north of Phoenix.

Sheriff’s officers say there isn’t a risk to the general public.
