Man dies after alleged assault on busy street in Noosa Heads
An 87-year-old man has died after a suspected assault whereas going for a morning stroll in Queensland’s Noosa Heads this morning.
Police mentioned the aged Noosa native died shortly after emergency crews have been known as to the scene on Hastings Street about 6am.

Sunshine Coast Detective Inspector Chris Toohey mentioned the person was discovered with extreme facial accidents and mendacity face up on a boardwalk path. 

A homicide investigation has been launched.

The facial accidents are in keeping with an assault, police say.

“We believe he was out this morning having a walk when these tragic circumstances occurred,” Toohey mentioned.

A 27-year-old man is in custody and is aiding police with their enquiries. So far no costs have been laid.

Toohey mentioned police weren’t but ready to touch upon whether or not a weapon could have been used within the alleged assault.

“Investigators are down at the scene, forensically examining everything down there. We’ll have a better understanding of what’s happened later on in the day,” Toohey mentioned.
